Genevieve Dickson, Georgia Lane, and Brad Cooper
Rising star, mezzo-soprano Genevieve Dickson now calls Newcastle home. She is a member of the Pacific Opera’s Young Artist Program, and has performed with Lyric Opera of Melbourne, Melbourne CitiOpera, and the Operation Quartet. Her recital will include delightful songs by Australian novelist Henry Handel (Ethel Florence) Richardson (famous for The Fortunes of Richard Mahony and The Getting of Wisdom).
A former Melba Opera Trust Scholar and Pacific Opera Young Artist, Aboriginal-Australian soprano Georgia Lane has recently returned to Newcastle from touring the EU with the Australian Dance Theatre, singing in their production of The Beginning of Nature.
Since returning from Europe in 2011, Australian tenor Brad Cooper has appeared as Albert in Albert Herring, Tamino in The Magic Flute and Basilo/Curzio in The Marriage of Figaro for Opera Australia, as Zadok, the Priest in Handel’s Solomon and Jonathan in Saul for Leichardt Espresso Chorus, Orfeo in Haydn’s Orfeo ed Euridice under Richard Bonynge for the Sydney Conservatorium’s Centenary and as tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah at Sydney Town Hall and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with Canberra Symphony. In late 2018 Brad toured China in Aida, and in 2019 has performed in Salome with Opera Australia.
