Award winning and versatile soprano, Elena Xanthoudakis is an expressive performer whose enthusiastic reviews speak of her captivating and engaging performances.
Recent highlights include: Pamina (Clarion Opera NY), the title role in Pia di Tolomei (ETO), Donna Anna/Don Giovanni (Winslow Hall), as Anna Bolena and Maria Sturda (Melbourne Opera). Elena debuted as Violetta (Winslow Hall) and Giulietta/ I Capuletti e i Montecchi (Greek National Opera) and performed Adina in L’elisir d’amore (Singapore Opera). In 2018, Elena will be performing Rossini Highlights for English Touring Opera. She will also be in Australia to perform in recitals, as well as at the Newcastle Music Festival.
Other roles include: Miss Schlesen/Satyagraha (ENO and Opera de Quebec); Lisa and Amina/La Sonnambula, Frasquita/Carmen (Royal Opera House); Gilda/Rigoletto (Opera Queensland); the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor (Opera de Quebec and Winslow Hall); Clorinda/La Cenerentola (Glyndebourne); First Niece/Peter Grimes for Accademia di Santa Cecilia (Rome); Jemmy/Guillaume Tell (BBC Proms) with Pappano, Adina/L’elisir d’amore (Scottish and Victorian Opera); Euridice and Genio L’anima del Filosofo (Pinchgut Opera). Elena covered Gilda/Rigoletto and Countess Adele/Comte Ory for The Metropolitan Opera, NY.
Elena has performed with the Royal Philharmonic, Scottish Chamber and Royal Scottish National Orchestras, Orchestra Victoria, Sydney Philharmonia, Tasmanian Symphony, St Petersburg Camerata, British Music Festival, Melbourne Symphony, Oxford Philomusica, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Krakow and Poznan Filharmonia Orchestras, Mozarteum Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
International prizes include the Tait Memorial Trust Vocal Prize, the Maria Callas International Grand Prix, and the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. Elena is a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Artist.
